Working Through Whatever

Friedrich Nietzsche once said, “That which does not kill us makes us stronger.” By saying this Nietzsche meant that through the hard times we go through in life we only get stronger by them. Through every obstacle we have to endure through our life it makes us stronger for our next one because no one’s life is perfect or easy, obviously.

In relation to my life with school, I have had plenty of classes that I thought would “kill” me. I did not know, at the time, that all the work I was doing and tests that I have struggled with were just going to make me prepared for later things to come in my academic career. Now that I have realized that some of the torture I was put through by some of my teachers is just making me stronger for future rigorous classes. Also because of this I am now prepared.

This quote by Friedrich Nietzsche is a great one to consider when going through hard times. It is always best to think of this and just know that whatever you are going through is going to make you a stronger person at the end. But it only will make you stronger if you do not give up while going through it.

"Friends"

Going in a downward path is an obvious easy way out. But only if you have people around you that do not truly care for you. Arnold H. Glasow once stated that, “A true friend never gets in your way unless you happen to be going down.” Keeping real friends around you will result in a better life since they will not ever let you go in a wrong direction.

True friends will not get in your way of happiness because of jealousy or any other reasons. If someone is your real friend they would want to see you happy and see you doing better. But if they are your true friend and they get in your way then they feel that you are not going in the right direction. On the other hand they may not be a true friend and they may just let you go on that downward path. This is why evaluating who you choose to call your “friend” is a very important task because it should be known that not everyone is your friend.

It is also true that not everyone can identify a true friend. When trying to find out if he/she is a real friend it is always good to think of this quote while considering their actions. Like if they did or did not get in your way.

Today Doesn't Shape Tomorrow

Always believe that you can do anything you want in life. Bob Proctor once stated that, “It does not matter where you are, you are nowhere compared to where you can go.” There are unlimited amount of possibilities in this world. Seeing where you are today does not affect where you could be tomorrow.

Hard work and dedication determines your path in life. Many people think that great opportunities just pop up. Although sometimes they do, people do not realize that you have to work hard to get where you want to be in your life. Your present occupation does not matter unless you are not working hard to move up to where you want to be. This applies to a variety of different scenarios from getting a promotion at work to working harder for better grades as a student. When Proctor says, “… where you CAN go,” it just emphasizes that you can go wherever you want to in your life but you must put in work so you can get there.

You can come from any type of background and still make something out of yourself. There are not any excuses. Most of the successful people in the world or the ones we call “celebrities” came from a dark background. Although some of them did not come from great pasts they did not let that stop them from getting to where they are now. The money and fame they have received did not come from not working. Unless you became a reality TV star like some “celebrities” who shall remain nameless and made a sex tape. But overall it does not matter where you are today because you can always change where you are tomorrow.

No Explanations

Belgicia Howell once said “Never explain yourself. Your friends do not need it and your enemies will not believe it.” This quote is a good motto to live by, especially being a teenager and attending high school. Whether you want to believe it or not, everyone is not always going to like you and for the ones who do not you should not explain to them what kind of person you truly are. The people who are close to you do not need an explanation because they already know who you are inside.

By definition explain means, “to make (an idea, situation, or problem) clear to someone by describing it in more detail or revealing relevant facts or ideas.” Someone that does not care about you and will not believe you do not deserve this from you. Although it is natural, for most people, to want others to like them their enemies will not want to even if they hear the truth about the person. Because of this everyone should embrace their individuality. There’s a variety of people in the world. Some like blue and others like red (of course other colors too). If someone does not understand who you are then they are not supposed to and you should be content with it.

This quote also brings up the topic of how you should choose your friends. Being in high school it is a struggle sometimes trying to find people who actually understand you and accept you for who you are. Once you have found friends who do then you do not need to explain to them who you are because they should definitely know. No one can control who is going to like them. Enemies are everywhere and I am certain they are not going anywhere since there will not be world peace (sorry to kill your dreams). With that said life shall go on, without explaining.
